My students come to school to escape the harsh realities of their home lives. They come to school for a warm place, a hot meal, and positive person to support them. Learning has become a last priority for most of my students. I want to be able to provide them an engaging and hands-on learning experience when they walk into my classroom. The math learning games from LakeShore will provide them a fun and new way of applying the skills we work on daily in the classroom. The same can be said about the math manipulatives. These tools will allow the students to touch and feel all of the different techniques that give them a better understanding of how to apply these skills. Third grade is a tough year for most kids. Preparing for their first year of testing is tough on them. I believe that these students should still get the chance to engage their creativity and the art supplies I have selected will help to make this happen. By providing a well-rounded education, my students should be able to thrive and coming to school will be more than just an escape from home but will become a fun place to learn.
