Our students need breaks throughout their day and we want to provide them the best learning environment. My team want to provide our children a safe and loving space and we can accomplish that goal through this project. The ability to purchase these items will help them adjust to the stresses of every day situations and to help with their abilities to learn. Each of our children have different ways of retaining information and how they learn and we want to provide numerous opportunities for them aside from pencil and paper assessments. Our kids in particular learn through play and these items will help grown and nurture this classroom we call a home. Purchasing these items will go towards a small classroom that is a self-supportive environment. Our students have special needs and even though they are close in age, their needs are a wide range. We have flexible seating for activities, a sensory area to play, and only a few manipulatives that keep our children entertained for an extended amount of time. We do not have many resources currently and do not want to deprive our children from the wonderful opportunities for multi-sensory learning. Our students will not only be learning academics, but they will learn about how to regulate their emotions, how to appropriately work and interact with each other, and important life skills. Children cannot learn if the basic needs are not met and we want to ensure that all of our children receive the love and support they need to learn. We want to create a learning environment that is not just a classroom but a second home for our students.
