I chose the resources in my project to help make my classroom be a more engaging and hands-on place. The art of playing is so important and I feel like has been lost in today's child due to the pandemic. I want my classroom to be a fun and happy place that children have the desire to become a lifelong learner while being engaged. Playing also helps with social skills that have been hampered by the pandemic. Social skills have been hampered by the pandemic and through play with others it will allow for those skills to develop. Even in 2nd grade I see the struggles they encounter with simple play with others. It is so very important to me that we get those skills developed as they grow and learn.
