To help my students learn amid the pandemic, I could use: the Versatile pack to engage them in hands on phonics and math learning. Due to the pandemic, my students have large learning gaps, so I chose the 1st grade pack and 2nd grade pack so that I am able to reach more students. I will be able to encourage my students who are on grade level and also grow the students who are lacking in skills they need to be on 2nd grade level. I will be able to use the document camera to take pictures of resources I have in print and add them to my google classroom. This will help my students who are being quarantined at home and will be able to still get as much of an experience as if they were in class. The magnetic wands and chips will be used to include my students in things I’ve been learning in the LETRS training. Segmenting words into sounds and really focusing on phonemic awareness with my students is crucial this year. These students missed very critical learning in phonics and need gaps filled with phonemic awareness. To bring my dream learning activity to life, I’d love to get: A versatiles class set for phonics and math practice, a document camera, and a class set of magnetic wands and chips for practicing sounds and segmenting words.
