As a result of the pandemic, English Language Learners have not had the opportunity to use English on a regular basis and are not make the progress we normally see. English Language Learners best learn when they can express themselves in speaking and writing through listening and reading. The materials requested will help ELLs engage in literacy activities. The storytelling kits are multicultural stories that students will instantly relate to, giving them voice to share and connect new knowledge to existing knowledge. The social emotional learning storytelling kits will help build their vocabulary and a sense of community not only in my small groups but also with others in our school. English Language Development activities are needed to quickly and efficiently assess and teach key language skills needed to learn and master in order to move our ELLs to be confident and independent learners not only in ELL class but in other classes as well.
