This project is designed to better incorporate inclusive teaching into my classroom. My students thrive on hands-on projects, as well as literature in which they can make real world connections. The materials listed above would be used in projects that promote self expression, critical thinking, and literary analysis. Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds is a modern young adult novel that will be primarily used with this project. This will be a high interest novel that will pull in a lot of student engagement. Unfortunately, students do not currently have access to hard copies of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. During virtual learning, this proves to be challenging. The copies I have requested will ensure that my students have access to hard copies in class as well as copies they can borrow to take home as needed.
