For my program, I have requested supplies for gardening. Gardening is a subject best learned by doing and in order to garden, we first have to have supplies. I plan to use the supplies to start a school garden where the produce will be donated to students in need from our school. Gardening is a subject that can still be safely taught in the middle of the pandemic as we are outside and students can be socially distanced while working. If we ever have to convert to total virtual learning again, the garden tools can be checked out to use at home. With the current interruptions of our food supply, it has never been more important (since the invention of the grocery store) for people to be able to produce their own food. The tools asked for in this project will enable students to learn this skill that can be used throughout their lifetime! With the supplies asked for such as garden shovels, rakes, and fertilizers, all the students will need to get started is soil and seeds! The worms and worm composter will be used to produce our own fertilizer in the future!
