It is paramount that students continue exploring the world around them through hands-on experiences and enrichment activities; to balance the modern-day advancements of technology. A balanced blend of sensorial play and technology is a perfect fit for my students with the “color-changing light table” and accessory materials. The students can use the many features that enhance learning with fun colors, light alternatives, and translucent material to make their learning experience more engaging. This project will include a light table and sensory tub to add more hands-on experiences with light and touch; meeting the needs of various learning styles! Students who use these materials will have more opportunities to engage fully in the learning process and form connections with what is being taught and how to implement that through their play at the light table. The light table is not only modern and has technological features, but more importantly, enhances the fundamental play that Prek is all about! Play in itself is learning for children and incorporating this item into our classroom will make learning fun!
