Being outdoors is good for everyone's physical health and emotional health. Sunshine (vit. D) helps build the immune system. Outdoor learning provides natural space and less need for distancing. Kids naturally want to be outside. Kids are more engaged in learning when they are actively using their whole bodies. Many of my students don't have access to sand. They aren't encouraged to explore and play with water. With these items we can grow seeds, use different types of dirt, rocks, and sand. We can create with different types of paint. An outdoor classroom allows us to address our skills through play!
