Learning much needed life skills will allow my students to live as independently as possible. These skills include sorting, washing, and folding laundry, sweeping and vacuuming floors, washing and drying dishes, learning how to shop for groceries, etc. Most of my students will need guided help in all living conditions during their lifetime. Giving them the necessary skills to navigate everyday life will help them to become more independent, giving them a sense of self worth that most of us take for granted. My students will also be learning valuable skills that can translate into job readiness skills for possible later employment. All skills learned in this environment will only enhance their classroom experience while giving my students the necessary skills for all personal and professional situations.
