The collection of books are of various genres. Research has shown that reading books of all genres helps enhance memory, vocabulary, and creativity skills. These books will take my students through adventure, mystery, humor, and real-world situations. The SPOT books will be used in my Calm Down Corner to help promote a more positive Social and Emotional well-being for my students. The wiggle cushions, chair bands, and fidgets will give my students the opportunity to give their hands and bodies something to do, which allows their brains to focus on the tasks at hand. The colorful book bins will be used to neatly organize the books and make my Reading Corner more pleasing for my students. The mini flashlights will be used to make reading in the dark extra fun!
