Due to the pandemic, students have many skill gaps in both reading and math. Classroom sets of books will allow my students to participate in reading meaningful, enriching literature, while providing each student with their individual copy so they will not have to share books. These books will enrich and enhance my classroom library so that students gain the English Language Arts skills that are required in fourth grade. The titles that I have chosen are high interest for fourth grade students, which assists in keeping young readers engaged and connected for learning.
