Having my students engage in manipulatives will help them through the pandemic-impacted learning slide by allowing them to "play a math or literacy game" and learn the basics of math and literacy. The math counters, peg boards, number match, clocks, subtraction and addition centers that I have requested will create hands on learning experiences for my students that will support their grade level learning expectations. The students will be able to use the manipulatives during centers or at the teacher table. They will offer the tactile learners a real, hands-on way to understand concepts better. In addition to Math, my students learn to read sight words, then read complete sentences as well as write complete sentences. The building with snap CVC, touch and read sentences, and writing prop box will promote my students confidence in literacy development. The literacy manipulatives will be used when learning the concept such as CVC words and reading a complete sentence at a literacy center or at the teacher table. The writing prop box will be used durning journal/writing time. It will allow the students a topic to write about. This donation will enhance my students confidence of learning one to one correspondence, addition, subtraction, ten frames, telling time, and literacy by the use of manipulatives. Students who use manipulates learn by allowing them to move from concrete experiences too abstract reasoning. It will also provide a way for my students to learn through hands on experience that is developmentally appropriate. Students who use hands on learning are happier, and gives them a sense of playing, and at the same time improving their skills.
