This will give our students a stationary place to meet as a group and be able to work on their academics such as mathematics, counting, reading and writing. Right now we have to find spaces to meet and they are not always available to be used. It's ok to sit on the floor in the common area, but a table and chairs will give them a better space to complete work, engage with not only myself but with their classmates as well. There are no designated spaces that can be used to meet and work, but I would like to create one, so my students can know that this space is designated for them! Students are provided with small desks in the classroom but its hard to provide small group instruction for students who thrive educationally in smaller groups. Aside from the small group instruction, it gives me a chance to make learning more fun with using different supplies, not just pencils and paper. With the kidney or horseshoe table it will allow a designate seat for me to sit while the children surrounds me to provide instruction for each student to learn comfortably because I am able to provide learning instructions to them at any given time while interacting and collaborating with classmates.
