The items included in my project will help meet the variety of needs my students have, especially due to them being on multiple grade levels. These items will aid in the development of crucial skills through multi-sensory learning activities, especially in reading and spelling. The ultimate goal is to “catch up” after the impact that the pandemic and virtual learning have had on students' education and these items will help. Also, to help meet my students' reading needs, I previously purchased a large SOR reading curriculum. Many of these items will help me to organize the curriculum in order to spend less time preparing and and more time teaching my students. Flexible seating options will also help foster learning for my students who require movement while in a learning environment, while still remaining properly distanced. My students excel when I am able to provide hands-on learning and activities that activate multiple parts of the brain. We have been applying things I’ve learned through the LETRS program training and I have seen so much growth in both their reading skills and their confidence. They have a strong desire to learn and I want to give them every opportunity possible to achieve their goals.
