As a result of the pandemic and virtual learning, my students are at a variety of learning levels especially in reading. My goal is for each student in my class to leave second grade as an independent, successful and confident reader. To ensure this, I need to be able to work in very small groups each day to help foster that growth in reading. Osmo kits offer an interactive way for students who are working independently in centers to stay engaged while learning! Osmo kits challenge students and while they are learning, I am able to work with the students on their levels. Osmo Pizza kits allow students to work with real world math problems, Osmo Detective Agency would allow for geography, culture and history, Osmo Math Wizard and the Fantastic Food Truck facilitate learning with geometry while The Secrets of Dragons game teaches measurement skills. These kits not only help students learn the many standards that are required in second grade, but they foster the love of learning!
