The materials that I have selected will help my students self-regulate when behaviors are escalating or they need a brain break to control anxieties. The rocking chair provides the student with limited mobility and stabilization being close to the ground, the tent a secluded area to get away from a crowd, the calming effect of the florescent light covers overall, and the two canoe boats that squeeze and give a hug to the Autistic student will provide the comfort and calmness.. I plan to make the Sensory room an inviting, fun and calming place to go. From the moment they enter as they begin to engage in activities of enjoyment, we will be helping the students navigate their day with success!
