My students have a shortened attention span due to COVID-19, because of instability around them at home and school. They are quite adaptable; however, I’ve learned that the more we focus on play, and engaging them kinesthetically and visually, the better they focus, learn, and retain what I’m teaching them! The Fairy Tales STEAM kit, Teddy Bear counters, Jumbo magnetic money, and Word Building blocks will capture their attention and curiosity to encourage learning! We will count, order, and compare the teddy bear counters with “The Three Bears.” We will discuss and compare the cost of supplies to build the pigs’ houses with “The Three Little Pigs.” We will build CVC word bridges like the STEAM kit bridges with “The Three Billy Goats Gruff.” The Kodak Nuscan Q800 Document Camera Visual Presenter will display the educational items in a way where all children will be able to see from any spot in the classroom. While we have been careful to monitor symptoms and spacing of students in the classroom in the safest way possible with COVID-19 concerns, this camera will be extremely helpful!
