Teaching struggling students to read is a difficult task under the best of circumstances. Keeping my students motivated, engaged, and confident in their abilities to learn and grow can be a struggle. COVID and the need to teach remotely and not consistently seeing my students face to face has made this feat even more difficult. The donations to this project will give my students tools and resources to bring reading to life and keep them engaged. This project includes many high interest classics in graphic novel format that will help increase their desire to read as well as their enjoyment. The model brain included in this project will help bring the book 'Phineas Gage' to life and improve my students' understanding and comprehension of the complex science. My students work hard and want to improve their reading in order to attain their goals in life. They have been fighting to overcome their difficulties and struggles for their entire academic career. The resources included in this project can help them in this journey and bring them closer to achieving their goals, both in their schooling and afterwards.
