Our students need to learn skills that allow them to enter the workforce. Even if the students end up not using a 3D printer everyday, they will learn skills that they can take away and apply to different knowledge. They will be learning a new technology that they might not get a chance to without your help. Due to the hands-on nature and STEM background of the project it can also help students deepen their knowledge in subjects such as math and science. Our students are ready to create show-stopping examples of their new scintillating skills in action! During the COVID-19 Global Pandemic; not only did students experience a stop in learning, but entire communities were severed from normalcy and how they function in day-to-day life. as we move forward we are rethinking and recreating what daily life is, as well as what work looks like. This means that students not only need to learn career specific skills, they need to learn how to adapt into a world that we do not even know what it will look like yet. 3D printing is now becoming a commonality in many career fields including fashion and interior design. By learning these skills now, not only will they will have a chance to continue to improve their skills and get a leg up in their future careers; they will also be able to innovate the world around them as these changes continue to happen. Some example projects include; creating scaled custom furniture, printing new textiles and garments, using design and modeling as an outlet to let them have a sense of control in a world that is full of things they cannot control, just to name a few. Thank you for helping my students be prepared and print their future!
