Reading and learning is more engaging when students can relate to the content. This selection of books will help students apply their budding reading skills to read about people like them. At the same time, it will open up the conversation in our classroom about race, gender identity, and equality. Help our library shelves look more like us! This project will diversify the books available to my students and fuel their love of reading with shiny new, relatable, and challenging books for them to devour. Change starts in the classroom!
