I would love to add a number of STEM activities into my classroom. I do something called morning tubs every morning in my classroom. Students come in first thing and can pick a tub that is full of a STEM activity. I don't have very many to choose from and I would love to add more to my collection to give students a variety. This helps students with cooperation, collaboration, and gives them a chance to be social which has been lacking the past couple of years due to covid. So I am asking for some floor puzzles, chutes and ladders, Mental Blox game, K'nex, Toss Across, Perfection, Candyland, Coding Critter, and dive into shapes. I will also need a place to store these items so I am asking for Plastic storage bins. To help instill cooperations skills I am also wanting some incentives like stickers for their water bottles. Another thing that goes well with STEM and cooperation is literature. I want students to have access to literature that encompasses different social and emotional learning. So I am asking for three different titled books. I would also like the $100 gift card to Teacher Pay Teacher to use to help me find a lot of different activities that involve science and engineering. The sand timers, the bouncy bands, and the wobble cushions will be used to help facilitate some students who have ADHD and anxiety. I have seen an increase in these behaviors over the past year and a half. The last two items I am asking for are to help in my literacy block. We have been taking the LETRs program this year and the word tiles, and word families are a big focus. I need these items to help me in my implementation of these important skills.
