The pandemic has been hard on students emotional and physical health. Students that are healthy learn better in school and have better outcomes. As a nurse I believe in addressing the whole student, including physical and emotional health. Students experience many emotions when dealing with any medical issues. Having breathing exercises, mindfulness exercises, and pinwheels can help students calm down when feeling anxiety, wether about school or a health issue. Students will benefit from having access to all these items. Students will also benefit from feeling confident about their care and that the nurse is able to help them address their issues at school. As a nurse I cover multiple schools with many students. These students may have different medical diagnoses. Students will benefit from having the nurse prepared with books to learn about diagnoses. Students will also benefit by having a nurse that is prepared in knowledge base and supplies to adequately care and treat students while at school.
