Because reading is essential and the majority of my students struggle in this area, I want to fill my class with high interest, low level reading books that they can easily check out to take home to promote reading practice, as well as have some class sets for nonfiction reading we can do in our reading groups. I am choosing books that will keep their interest, cause fun discussions in class, and also be books they are happy to write summaries about once we have read them. The last part of my project is to give children the opportunity to write their own graphic novels. I am excited for this project that will be an engaging, exciting way to get them writing. They will also be excited to share their writing with others. Thank you so much for your consideration in helping students in our little corner of the world become literate humans!
