A current project is being human "fractal generators!" This is where we start with a simple pattern in a quadrant plane. We create rules for each quadrant, such as "Clockwise 90 degrees" for the first quadrant, "Counterclockwise 270 degrees" for the next quadrant, "Clockwise 180 degrees" for the next, and so on. We then proceed to reduce, replicate, and rebuild using these same rotation "rules" through several iterations, with the pattern getting smaller and smaller. We then copy the little pieces and piece them together using the same rotation rules. The end result is a generation of an actual fractal that students can now relate to, in our study of fractal geometry.
