Hands-on activities are what make any classroom fun and keeps students engaged in the lesson. Since Covid began students have been less engaged and excited to learn on a daily basis. I always hear students say at the beginning of the school year that they think of history classes as boring. My goal is to make history entertaining and help students think critically about historical evens Legos in the classroom??? Yes, I plan on teaching the five qualities of a civilization by having student create civilizations with Legos. This will give students a hands-on opportunity to truly understand the concepts of a civilization. Playdoh will be used to help learn about ancient writings like Cuneiform, students will be able to see and understand how difficult it was to write, which explains one reason why there was not as much writing in ancient times as there is today.
