In our Middle School Life Skills class, we strive to create a comfortable, safe space for the moderate to severe special education students in our school. Part of the process of learning for my students includes satisfying and self-regulating their sensory needs. Once these needs are met, they are better prepared to learn the curriculum. In order for the students in my class to become as independent as possible, sensory processing is an important part of their learning, concentration, and focus. This area would satisfy a necessary need for them.

About my class
