I want to provide my students with a comfortable and relaxing place to work on their speech sounds or language skills. It's my goal to make every student feel comfortable and safe, especially when they're working on difficult or frustrating concepts. The rug and seating poufs will give my students soft spots to sit down if they choose, and the poufs can also double as fidget seats for students who like to be able to move around. The rug will also be great as seating for my younger students so we can be close together during shared reading activities. The white board film, mini white boards, and dry erase markers have endless potential. Paired with the story starter book, my students working on language can create fun and exciting stories and even add awesome illustrations. I want to make coming to speech exciting and fun! I've heard from many older students and adults who were in speech that it was not a fun experience. I never want to hear that from one of my students! My students can work towards earning a play on the claw machine by completing assignments, following directions, and being kind to each other. This is a unique reinforcement game that I haven't ever seen in a classroom but I think my students would be super excited and motivated by earning a turn on the claw machine! I plan to fill it with small fidget toys or other items.
