Students in my 4th grade science class find themselves engaged in science content they've never explored before! Touching, seeing, discussing minerals and rocks helps them to take understand to a higher depth of knowledge than ever before. Demonstrations and manipulatives are critical in attaining that depth of knowledge. Students deserve the chance to take their learning past a computer screen in an engaging way that helps them to develop those critical problem-solving skills. These manipulatives are the key to that higher understanding of science content in my 4th grade classroom.
