I want to give my students the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument and to get to know the joy of performing music. Many of my students do not have opportunities or resources to participate in our other musical programs. COVID-19 has made participating in large musical groups problematic for students whose health or the health of those they live with are threatened by the pandemic. It’s often very difficult to practice in choirs or bands and follow all recommendations concerning masking and social distancing. This class gives students the opportunity to express themselves through music safely.
