Students in my classes are lower-income, and we live in a rural area. My classes also have a large population of English language learners and those involved in special programs. Because sixth grade is a transitional year in my district and these students missed out on a lot of writing opportunities in fourth grade, the document camera would allow me to display books, answers, and model paragraphs on the screen. The document camera would also allow students the opportunity to take a turn teaching each other in class as well.
