I want to make reading fun for my students and give them an area they can go to to read and relax. Kids have faced such high stress levels during the pandemic and most of them are still feeling the effects. My goal is to create an area in my classroom where they can go to enjoy reading a new book and relax and decompress. I want to have an area with seating that allows them to relax and kick back and read. An area where we can all go to talk about a book study we have been doing or just a place to read quietly for a while. I have chosen some new books and some comfortable seating options for them. My kids need a place to relax and decompress, and forget about their home lives for a moment and just enjoy reading. I want to provide that safe comfortable space for them. I want them to be excited about going to the reading area. I hope they can escape and get lost in a great book. For so many school is the only place they have to feel safe and relax.
