Some children benefit from rewards to help them engage with their environment appropriately. Other children benefit from a calming environment to help them process an upsetting event and sensory items to help them regulate their emotion and behavior. I will work with students to provide them with the skills they need to manage their stress and life's challenges, which often involves working through skills-based workbooks, being rewarded for appropriate behavior, and talking through tough times in a safe environment. The end goal, however, is to provide them with the skills they need to independently manage their own behavior in the future.
