My students must understand the concept that matter cannot be created or destroyed. They need to see it, and talk about it, and create it, in order to truly understand. The access to lab equipment and supplies has been a difficult thing to deal with. Many times my students have to share their equipment and supplies with a small group, instead of working one on one with their own stuff. Students will learn more when they can do the work themselves instead of watching another student do the experiment. I know that these supplies will last me through this year, and the equipment will give me years of use. Please allow my kids to interact like a real scientist with real equipment.
