The potential for my students to grow and learn through explorative experiences with the materials requested in this grant is endless. Reading opens worlds otherwise inaccessible to my students. The books and educational games I ordered include diverse genres and ability levels that appeal to the varied interests and abilities in my classroom. Given enough books in my classroom library, I would be able to allow students to take books home, a privilege deeply desired but very rarely allowed due to the small collection in my new classroom. STEM exploration builds interest and skill, triggering questions that produce present and future scientists. These games and activities will provide exciting opportunities for growth and entertainment! Artistic engagement, a platform that allows students to express emotional needs often suppressed, requires materials. These materials, generally accessible at school, are often unavailable at home. We have discovered over the last few months and years that learning at home can become the new reality at a moment's notice. The art supplies provided by this grant will allow us to give students the same opportunities for artistic expression at school or at home, whatever the current conditions require.
