My students are lovable kiddos! They can be a challenge for teachers at times because they struggle to learn, and due to the extra effort in school required, they often loose motivation or may demonstrate poor behavior to escape academic tasks. Even the best of students sometimes need an incentive to keep them going strong. My students with disabilities have to work extra hard to keep up with their peers. My plan is to create multiple treasure-boxes to use for my student's individual behavior support plans, and be able to rotate those treasure boxes between students/classrooms every couple weeks so they stay motivated by having new items introduced! Students behavior plans have individualized goals, and once their goal is met they choose from the treasure box. My students will be so excited to have fun new items to work toward earning. This will help them stay focused on their behavior goals which not only will help them become better learners, but avoid disruptive classroom behaviors so others can learn as well! All will benefit!
