A growing number of students are struggling in school because they don't have the emotional, coping, and social skills they need. This has been exacerbated by the pandemic and the disruption to regular school schedules and routines. The purpose of this project is to start a collection of resources and materials that will be used for social and emotional wellness instruction. With these materials, my students will be much more interested in learning emotional, coping, and social skills that will help them be successful, at school and in life, and will have authentic opportunities to practice their skills. When students have fun and interesting books that facilitate conversation about important concepts, when there are engaging activities that allow for practice, and when students have the materials they need to use their new skills in different settings and situations, they learn better and generalize the things they've learned to help them be more successful in their everyday lives.
