These materials will be used to engage students in meaningful and functional language and speech tasks. I have students that are unable to use spoken language and use assistive technology to communicate, that need language learning opportunities, and that need speech sound learning and use opportunities. For my student who uses assistive technology, I have selected materials that will engage their interests in building and playing, so that I can model new vocabulary (action words, describing words, and nouns) in fun, interactive activities. I have students that need to build language skills in order to better understand classroom instruction. I have selected materials and wordless books that will allow them learning opportunities to describe, use complex language, tell why and how, and learn new vocabulary. I have students that are working on speech sounds. I have selected phonological awareness cards, activities and games, and language activities that will give them fun and functional ways to use their sounds and support generalization.
