Our classroom library is currently very small. The books included on this list would increase the options students would have for independent reading as well as the options I would have for whole group instruction. Additionally, the book sets will be used for guided reading groups. As for the flexible seating, there are many students in my classroom who strongly benefit from having a variety of learning positions. Although I allow my students to work where they need to in order to focus, I do not have comfortable chairs for them to take to their focus spots. The soft stools would allow all my students to move anywhere in the classroom to complete their classwork while sitting on something comfortable. By donating to this project, you not only will be able to help boost the reading materials available for my students but also help increase student attention and focus. Students will be able to choose books that interest them as well as have a fun chair to sit on while they read. This will give my students more control over their learning because they have the choice of what to read and where to work.
