These materials and manipulatives target problem solving, emotions, and social-interaction in a naturalistic but also guided (when needed) way. These materials can help students to continue their social and academic learning in light of COVID-19 all the while creating fun, interactive, and motivating ways to participate in speech and language lessons. The games and cards listed will help with turn taking, group interactions, vocabulary, and comprehension. Other items listed provide sensory and fine-motor use while practicing language skills. Magnets and puzzles will be used to help my students receiving speech therapy to practice requesting wants/needs and functional vocabulary (such as clothing items/body parts) when communicating with those in their school environment. I chose these materials/manipulatives because are functional, can be used in a variety of settings/therapy lessons, and can be adaptable to individual or group lessons.
