A leveled library would directly impact students, as they would have text provided for them at their specific reading levels. This would allow for differentiation amongst individual students, while also creating a library that would allow for student collaboration while reading the same text. Our students need a variety of text, both fiction and non-fiction, as well as text supporting early readers (pre-alphabetic) and those readers as high as a second and third grade reading level. A leveled library would provide our grade level (4 Kindergarten classrooms) with text that could be used for all students at all levels of reading.
