Books take us on a journey and do so much more - rhyming words teach spelling and word segmenting, the emotions of characters help solve problems and understand feelings. The Snowy Day Storytelling Kit from Lakeshore and similar book kits provide visual support needed for deeper understanding. I work with kids from preschool through sixth grade who have speech and communication needs with articulation, grammar, expressing emotions, understanding social situations and underneath it all my goal is to create a love of words, stories, reading and a world full of good communicators.
