Many of my students are restless. Whether this has to do with COVID-19 or not, I think our classroom is lacking when it comes to offering my students a creative workspace. My students like to move around during our class and talk with their peers. Collaboration is vital in our class as I expect them to work together in inquiry activities, give and receive feedback for projects, and work together to think through and process their daily math tasks. These resources will provide students with comfortable seating for anywhere they would like to sit. They will also have resources for taming their energy. My students have given so much effort in our class to constantly meet my expectations, and they deserve for me to meet them where they're at and provide a creative workspace that can allow them to flourish. I embed Social Emotional Learning every day in our class through journals, reflection/goal-setting, and mentoring. I would like to incorporate more peer-to-peer SEL in our class, and these resources will allow my students to sit more comfortably to do that, especially when addressing more sensitive matters.
