I work with my students in small groups daily in my classroom. I use a pocket chart for letter and word cards, but I have to hang it on the front of a filing cabinet a few feet away. I also do not have a white board anywhere near the table. The chart stand I would like to purchase has rings to hold the pocket chart and it has a magnetic white board. It is portable so I can pull it right up to the table and the kids will be less distracted by having it right in front of them. By donating to my project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. The individual white boards will let me dictate sounds and words to the students and allow me to see them as they are writing. I can provide immediate feedback and correct mistakes easily. I would also like to be able to use the manipulatives on my list for word building and phonics skill lessons during small group. Some of the manipulatives, such as the Word Building Tiles and Word Building Blocks, can be used individually. Others can be used on the magnetic white board with the group. I have been taking the LETRS course through the state of Utah and these manipulates will help me implement many of the things I have learned about teaching reading! Please consider donating to my project so I can better help my kiddos learn and work on closing the gap caused by the last two years of remote learning, mask wearing, and missing class when not feeling well. I am so excited to get these things and start using them with my cute students! Thank you!!
