These kids will be able to use crafts, games, and art to help express themselves and manage their struggles with anger, sadness, anxiety, and poor focus. My hope is to explore with them through play, crafts, art and exploration new ways to cope with these distressing emotions. As they learn new ways to cope with distress, they will be able to improve not only social relationships but be able to be more successful in the classroom. These skills will be used throughout their life as they navigate academics and their roll in the community. I will be using the games, crafts, and toys to help teach them mindfulness, social skills, and ways to cope with distress. My hope is to help them manage emotions more effectively in the classroom.
