Students at my school come from various economic circumstances, some of them unable to provide the basics for their schooling. These materials (pencils, markers, glue, poster boards, white erase boards, etc) will help students be engaged in the classroom with nothing holding them back. They will also help students be excited to learn. While we hope that we can teach students to value intrinsic motivation, many middle schoolers are motivated by extrinsic rewards. Some of the materials I will receive will influence students to be excited about learning and participating, this is especially helpful for students that generally tend to not participate. These materials will help increase student engagement and help them be excited about learning. I want to do everything in my power to help my students love learning and be successful in school so that they can learn the necessary skills, knowledge, and habits that will allow them to be successful for the rest of their lives. The Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) gift card will help me find engaging hands-on activities that will allow my students to be more involved in the learning process. For students to learn and remember content, and learn important skills. These lessons can be especially helpful when students (or teacher) cannot attend due to illness, providing asynchronous learning activity ideas. The dry erase boards and Expo marker equipment will give each student the opportunity to participate. Prizes (toys, erasers, and stickers) will give students incentive to participate more and do better academically. Fidget toys will help students with anxiety and ADHD focus in class. Costumes will help students have fun with history and be more immersed in the content. The word games will help students develop reading and spelling skills that are greatly needed to succeed academically.
