Because our students have a hard time regulating their emotions, we often have students who are crying and even screaming in the classroom. Being able to put on headphones helps the other students to focus on their schoolwork and better ignore the noise around them. Having sensory items to hold and manipulate helps my students with autism to calm themselves and to be able to concentrate on the lesson being taught. Manipulatives are very helpful for struggling students who need those tactile and visual aids to improve learning. These will enable us to work on making sentences, which is a struggle for my special needs students.
