By using headphones my students can access higher-level reading which will make them better readers. They need access to a variety of books and cultures. I try to have books on my shelf that represent the different students I have in my class. My students are more engaged when they have access to quality reading. Many students will pick up a picture book or a book that is not very thick. many books have great content but are easier to read or are more inviting to my students with reading disabilities.
