These past two years have been challenging for students, especially those with little to no resources. Having to stay at home for long periods of time put limits on how much the students can explore and learn when given the opportunity. Most of the students in my class have never seen a microscope, let alone used one. It’s hard for students to understand what they can’t see with the naked eye. With a microscope available for my students in the classroom, it will open a door where they can cultivate their curiosity and learn about a world that is too small to be seen. Imagine students who are able to witness how microscopic organisms are part of the ecosystem and contribute to the energy transfer that help organisms survive! This is a learning experience that I want my students to explore at least once in their lifetime.
