Learning can begin with a book, the right book, for any student, at any given time. Through reading, some escape, some are saved, some are less alone and feel understood, and some learn. Literacy is the number 1 skill students should develop everyday, and although many books can be found online, reading a hard copy of a book and turning its pages is part of the authentic reading experience that we should want for our children. With a varied collection of books, a classroom culture can begin with, "Here we value reading, dreaming, and learning."

About my class
